WEFAQ launches a free Kuwait Business Activities Guide covering 3,014 activities
05-11-2026
WEFAQ Law Firm has launched the Kuwait Business Activities Guide, a free interactive tool that lists 3,014 business activities across 31 sectors, as shown on the Kuwait Business Centre portal. The guide is available from 5 November 2026 at wefaqlaw.com/files/activities-guide.
Anyone setting up a company or adding an activity to an existing licence needs to answer two questions first: which official activity matches what the business will actually do, and does a regulator have to approve it. The guide puts both answers in one searchable place.
Of the 3,014 activities, 737 need the approval of a regulatory authority and 1,015 come with a detailed description. Each entry shows the activity code and official name, the sector it belongs to, whether regulator approval is needed and from which authority, the description published by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and its properties, such as industrial, freelance or mobile.
Users can search by activity name, code or regulator, filter by sector, regulator or property, open any activity for its full details, and share the link with a partner or accountant. The guide works in Arabic and English on phone and desktop, needs no sign-up, is free, and is updated every month with the latest ministerial decisions.
WEFAQ's view: choosing the activity before you file saves time, because an activity that needs a regulator's approval changes both the timeline and the documents you will need. The guide is for reference only, and the official source remains the Ministry of Commerce and Industry portal. If you need help choosing or licensing an activity, our team is glad to assist.
